George Harne is a music historian and the fourth President of Christendom College.A scholar of music history and student of the Catholic intellectual tradition, Dr. Harne earned his Ph.D. from Princeton University.Prior to serving at Christendom College, Dr. Harne began his academic life in the classroom before taking up roles in institutional leadership.Dr. Harne is guided in his work by the thought of Cardinal Newman, Josef Pieper, and Joseph Ratzinger.Dr. Harne has written popular essays on education for a variety of publications, is a regular lecturer on Catholic liberal education, and hosts the college’s podcast, Christendom Conversations.George and his wife, Debbie, are grateful converts, and they live in Front Royal with their five children.
